So you need to clean up your hard drive, follow these steps and your computer will run much faster and smoother. What you need to do is download some software which is free to use, you will be working with 2 windows, this one to follow these steps and the other window which will run the software to clear your hard drive. To begin you need to click this link

Click the download now button, you will be taken to another page. If you are on Windows XP you will have to click the yellow information bar at the top of your screen and click download file. Otherwise simply 'RUN'.If you are on Vista, click the option to save at the bottom left of your screen.

You may be presented with a security warning, this is fine so just click 'RUN', select your language,click next and select the I agree radio button then click next. Decide if you want to recieve updates or the news letter and click next. Continue to click next and install the software.

Click ok and you are presented with the option to download Wise Registry cleaner and Wise disk cleaner,click finish and a new window opens giving you the option to download Wise registry cleaner.

Click the download button, again if you are on Windows XP you will be presented with the yellow information bar, click this then run. If you are on Vista, click the option to save at the bottom left of your screen. Click RUN, select your lanuguage click next then choose I agree to then click next. Once again if you want to subscribe click the options otherwise click next and install the software. Again click next until you are presented with the Wise Cleaner window again, this time uncheck both boxes and click finish.

If you have done this correctly you should have 2 new icons on your desktop. Double click the Wise disk cleaner 4 free icon. The wizard opens up so continue to click next and finish the wizard. The wizard closes and you are presented with the clean diak program. Simply click the big blue arrow to start the cleaning process. Dependant on the size of your hard drive will determine how long the program will take. Once the program has finished it will indicate this at the bottom left of the window.All the junk files that have been found will be displayued on the right hand side of the window with a tick box on it. To delete all the selected files click the red cross mark at the top of the window. The progress is shown at the bottom of the window and once finished the junk files will be wiped from your hard drive. You can now exit the program and go on to clean your registry by selecting the Clean Registry option.
